Common questions

Do visitors need to download an app? ▼
No. The guide is a single webpage that visitors open in any browser. On iOS and Android they can optionally add it to their home screen for an app-like experience — but there's nothing to install from any app store.
How does offline mode work? ▼
Before deploying, you pre-seed the guide with AI-generated answers to common questions using the bulk seed feature. These answers are baked directly into the guide file and served instantly — no internet required. Maps are also stored locally. New AI answers are cached as visitors use the guide online, building up coverage over time.
What API costs should I expect? ▼
VenueVoice uses the Anthropic Claude API for AI responses. In embedded mode, your Anthropic account is charged for each online AI response (cached responses are free). A typical visitor session costs pennies. Most venues find that after pre-seeding 100+ answers, the vast majority of questions are served from cache, keeping API costs very low.
Can I use my own branding and colors? ▼
Yes — fully. The admin studio includes a color theme picker with 12 presets, custom hex color inputs, 12+ venue-specific emoji packs, a custom tagline, and your venue name. The exported visitor guide looks completely native to your brand.
How does multi-language work? ▼
When auto-detect is enabled, Claude identifies the language the visitor is writing in and responds in the same language — completely automatically. Spanish visitors get Spanish answers, French visitors get French answers, and so on. No translation files, no language configuration — it just works for any language Claude supports.
How does analytics work without a server? ▼
Analytics are logged locally in the visitor's browser. The Info tab in the visitor guide includes an "Export My Session Data" button. Visitors can tap it to download a small JSON file and email or share it with you. You import it in the admin studio to view aggregated question data, online/offline ratios, maps viewed, and languages. Future plans include automatic aggregation via a lightweight backend.
Can I manage multiple venues? ▼
Yes — the Agency plan supports up to 5 venue guides under one subscription. Each venue gets its own admin studio login, branding, content, and exported guide. The white-label option lets you remove VenueVoice branding entirely for reselling to your clients.
Data & Privacy

How visitor data is handled

A question we love getting — because the answer is genuinely reassuring.

Does VenueVoice collect visitor data? ▼
No. VenueVoice does not collect, store, or transmit visitor data to any server we operate. Conversations between visitors and Vox stay entirely within the visitor's own browser. Nothing is sent to VenueVoice. The only external communication is the visitor's question going directly to Anthropic's Claude API to generate an answer — and that response comes straight back to the visitor's device.
Where is visitor chat history stored? ▼
Chat history is stored in the visitor's own browser using localStorage — the same technology websites use to remember your preferences. It never leaves their device unless the visitor chooses to export their session data. Visitors can clear their chat history at any time directly within the guide.
Who can see the analytics data? ▼
Analytics — including questions asked, languages used, and maps viewed — are collected locally in the visitor's browser and only shared when a visitor taps the "Export My Session Data" button. VenueVoice does not have access to a live analytics dashboard. Operators receive analytics when visitors choose to share them, keeping data collection transparent and opt-in.
Is my venue's content secure? ▼
Your venue's content — descriptions, Q&A answers, maps, and branding — is embedded directly into the exported guide HTML file. It is not stored in a central database. You own the file completely. VenueVoice does not retain a copy of your content after export.
How does Anthropic handle visitor questions? ▼
Visitor questions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training by default. Anthropic maintains its own privacy policy and enterprise-grade data handling practices. You can review Anthropic's privacy commitments at anthropic.com/privacy.
